our mission

For the Love of Zoey Inc. started as a community initiative in 2015, in honor of Sonya “Zoey” Hamler, Sister-in-Law of our Founder, Carol Hamler, who passed away in 2014 from Breast Cancer. Witnessing Zoey's agonizing experience, Carol wanted to find a way to help others who were going through a similar experience.

Zoey is what we consider a force to be reckoned with. She was a successful litigation attorney for the New York City Transit Authority. Her legacy of being a strong black woman will live on.

Initially, the Chemo Care Love Packages project served women receiving chemotherapy for Breast Cancer, but now we have transitioned to serving warriors experiencing any form of cancer.

Every item is hand-picked to provide comfort to those experiencing chemotherapy and radiation. We have been able to serve (350) people since 2015, providing care packages once a year.

Moving forward, our mission is to make this initiative year-round reaching at least (100) people each year. With the support of our community and corporate sponsors, we hope to one day exceed this goal.
